How to cancel your tl;dv subscription without losing your meetings
Short answer: Go to Settings, Plan & Billing, click Manage subscription, and in the Stripe page that opens click Cancel or pause plan (tl;dv help). Export first: tl;dv's API doesn't cover meetings organized on Free, and Free-plan recordings are kept for 3 months (tl;dv help).

Step 1: export while your plan is active
tl;dv's help center says it doesn't support bulk transcript downloads in the app, and the API works for meetings organized on Pro, Business or Enterprise (tl;dv API). That makes the days before cancellation the last easy window.
- Copy your API key (see tl;dv API transcripts).
- Export every transcript to one ZIP: bulk export tl;dv transcripts.
- Download recordings you want to keep, one at a time as MP4: download a tl;dv recording.
Step 2: cancel
- In tl;dv go to Settings, then Plan & Billing.
- Click Manage subscription. You're sent to Stripe, tl;dv's payment provider.
- Click Cancel or pause plan and confirm.

What the Free plan keeps after you cancel
- Transcripts and notes stay accessible, but recordings on Free are stored for 3 months; you're notified 4 weeks before deletion and can download them in that window only (tl;dv help).
- After 3 days, Free recordings move to archived storage and must be unarchived (up to about 90 minutes) to watch.
- Free limits are for the lifetime of the account, not monthly.
- Invoices: once you're on Free the Account & Billing section is hidden, so download invoices before you cancel or ask support later.
Cancel vs delete
Deleting the account (Settings, Profile, Delete account) removes all data with no logs kept (tl;dv help). Export before you do either. Moving to another recorder? See tl;dv alternatives.
