MinuteHaul / Guides / tl;dv alternatives
What are the best tl;dv alternatives, and which can take my old meetings?
Short answer: Fireflies, Otter, Avoma, Fathom and Granola are the common tl;dv alternatives. None imports tl;dv meetings directly: Fireflies, Otter and Avoma re-transcribe uploaded recordings, while Fathom and Granola take no imports. tl;dv has no bulk export, so export your transcripts through its API before you switch, whichever tool you pick.
Sources: each vendor's help center, linked in the table, checked Oct 2026. This page compares one thing: whether your tl;dv history can come with you. It doesn't rank recording quality or price.

| Granola | No. | No: its note import only works between two Granola accounts, not from other apps (Granola). | Switching guide |
Step 1 before any switch: export your tl;dv transcripts
Comparing bulk export tools (native copy, the tl;dv API, the TldvExporter extension and MinuteHaul)? See tl;dv bulk export: every option compared (2026).
tl;dv's help center says "Right now, we don't support bulk transcript downloads or exports" (tl;dv). The API works for meetings organized on Pro, Business or Enterprise (tl;dv API), so export while your plan is active:
- Get your tl;dv API key (see tl;dv API transcripts).
- Export every transcript: one Markdown file per meeting plus an
index.csv(see bulk export tl;dv transcripts). - Optional: download the recordings you want to upload to Fireflies, Otter or Avoma. tl;dv has no bulk download; recordings download one at a time as MP4 (see download a tl;dv recording).
- Cancel tl;dv only after the files are saved (see export before you cancel).
Which one to pick
- You want old meetings searchable inside the new tool: Fireflies, Otter or Avoma, by uploading recordings. Check their upload limits first.
- You only care about new meetings: any of the five. Keep the exported transcripts in your own drive, Obsidian or NotebookLM (see migrate off tl;dv).
Need every tl;dv transcript as files? Paste your tl;dv API key into the MinuteHaul web exporter. It uses tl;dv's official API from your browser and builds one ZIP: a Markdown file per meeting, an index.csv and an optional all-transcripts.txt. Your 10 most recent meetings are free. Buy unlimited: $19 one-time with a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Leaving tl;dv? How to cancel your tl;dv subscription without losing your meetings. Comparing from the other side: Fireflies alternatives.

FAQ
What is the best alternative to tl;dv? It depends on your needs, but if you want your past meetings in the new tool, Fireflies, Otter and Avoma accept uploaded recordings and re-transcribe them. Fathom and Granola only record new meetings.
Can I import my tl;dv meetings into another tool? Not directly. None of Fireflies, Otter, Avoma, Fathom or Granola documents a tl;dv import. Export your transcripts through the tl;dv API and, where supported, upload the recordings.
Does tl;dv let me export all my meetings before I switch? Not in the app: tl;dv's help center says it doesn't support bulk transcript downloads or exports. The tl;dv API works for meetings organized on Pro, Business or Enterprise.
Is there a free tl;dv alternative? Otter has a Basic free plan, which allows up to three imported files per account. Check each vendor's pricing page for current free-plan limits.
