MinuteHaul / Guides / Export your meeting archive before switching

Export your meeting archive before switching tools (2026)

Short answer: before you switch meeting-notes tools, get your archive out while your current plan is active, because most export features depend on the plan. Fireflies and Granola offer a whole-account export on request; Otter offers bulk export only on Business and Enterprise; tl;dv has no bulk export at all. MinuteHaul is a bulk exporter for tl;dv and Fireflies only (Fireflies in beta). It does not support Otter or Granola. Disclosure: MinuteHaul publishes this page.

Fireflies

Fireflies has the most complete native option: the account data export. Fill in its data request form and approve the confirmation email; you get a ZIP link within 24 to 48 hours, valid for 7 days, with MP3 audio, MP4 video if available, TXT transcripts with speaker identification, TXT summaries, attendee details and JSON metadata. Fireflies says it supports full exports for all users (Fireflies: export your account data). Per-meeting downloads (transcript as PDF, DOCX, SRT, CSV, JSON or MD, plus summary, MP4 and MP3) are on Pro plans and higher (Fireflies: download transcripts and recordings). The API is available on every plan, with daily limits on Free and Pro (Fireflies API limits). More detail: Fireflies bulk export: every option compared.

tl;dv

tl;dv's help center says plainly: “Right now, we don't support bulk transcript downloads or exports.” To save a transcript you copy it to the clipboard, and both the meeting owner and the person downloading need Pro or Enterprise (tl;dv: how to download transcripts). Recordings download one at a time, with the same plan rule plus editor or admin rights, and no bulk download (tl;dv: how to download your recording). The tl;dv API is Pro or Business only, and meetings organized by Free users aren't available through it (tl;dv API). That's the gap MinuteHaul fills: it uses the API to pull every transcript into one ZIP. If you're on tl;dv Free, see the cheaper extension option in tl;dv bulk export: every option compared.

Otter

Single conversations export from the three-dot menu. Otter says Basic users can export TXT only; paid plans add DOCX, PDF and SRT, plus options like speaker names and timestamps (Otter: export conversations). Bulk export is only on Business and Enterprise: select conversations in My Conversations (scroll to load them all before “Select all”), pick formats, and Otter emails a ZIP link (Otter: bulk export). Otter's pricing page lists exportable formats by plan, with bulk export on the top two tiers (Otter pricing). If you're on Pro and want everything, upgrade before exporting or export one by one. MinuteHaul doesn't support Otter.

Granola: does it restrict exports?

Here's what Granola's own docs say. Any Basic or Business user can go to Settings > Profile > Generate CSV; the CSV (title, summary, transcript and basic details per note) is emailed within a few hours and covers your full note history, including notes older than 30 days that Basic hides in the app (Granola: exporting notes, Granola: subscriptions and billing). The limits are real, though:

So Granola isn't holding the data hostage, but the free plan hides older notes in the app and the only free bulk path is a once-a-day CSV. MinuteHaul doesn't support Granola.

A switching checklist

  1. Export before you cancel or downgrade; plan-gated features (Fireflies downloads, tl;dv API, Otter bulk export, Granola API) go away with the plan.
  2. Run the free whole-account export where there is one (Fireflies, Granola) and keep the file somewhere you control.
  3. Count what you got against the count in the app (Granola skips summary-less notes; Otter's “Select all” only selects loaded rows).
  4. Download any recordings you need separately; transcript tools often skip media.
  5. Only then cancel. See Fireflies and tl;dv before-cancel guides.

FAQ

Can I bulk export my Fireflies meetings? Yes. Fireflies says it supports full account data exports for all users on request, emailed as a ZIP within 24 to 48 hours (link valid 7 days), with TXT transcripts and summaries, MP3 audio, MP4 video if recorded and JSON metadata. Per-meeting downloads need Pro or higher.

Does tl;dv have a bulk export? No. tl;dv's help center says it doesn't support bulk transcript or recording downloads. Per-meeting transcript copy and recording download need Pro or Enterprise for both the owner and the downloader, and its API is Pro or Business only.

Can I bulk export from Otter? Otter's help center says bulk export is only on Business and Enterprise. Basic (free) users can export single conversations as TXT only; paid plans add DOCX, PDF and SRT.

Does Granola restrict exports? Partly. Every Basic and Business user can generate a CSV of titles, summaries and transcripts for notes they own, including notes older than 30 days that Basic hides in the app. But the CSV is emailed within a few hours, only one export is allowed per 24 hours, notes without a summary are skipped, Enterprise has export off by default, admins cannot export other members' notes, and the API is Business or Enterprise only.

Does MinuteHaul export Otter or Granola? No. MinuteHaul exports tl;dv and Fireflies (Fireflies support is in beta) only. For Otter and Granola, use their own exports described on this page.

What does MinuteHaul cost? The 10 most recent meetings are free, then $19 one-time with a 14-day refund. It uses each tool's API, so tl;dv exports need a Pro or Business plan, per tl;dv's API article.
