How to use all your Fireflies transcripts in ChatGPT, Claude or NotebookLM
Short answer: export every Fireflies meeting into one or a few large text files, then add those files to a ChatGPT Project, a Claude Project or a NotebookLM notebook. All three cap how many files you can add, so a few combined files work far better than hundreds of single-meeting files. That lets you ask questions across your whole meeting history, like "what did customers say about pricing this quarter?" or "list every commitment we made to Acme".
Step 1: get all your Fireflies transcripts as files
Fireflies says per-meeting downloads need a Pro plan or higher (Fireflies guide), and even then it's one meeting at a time. The Fireflies API works on every plan (Free: 30 requests per minute and 500 per day, per Fireflies API limits), so a bulk export through the API is the fastest route:
- Copy your API key from Integrations, then Fireflies API (Fireflies docs).
- Open the MinuteHaul exporter with Fireflies selected, paste the key, optionally pick a date range, and start the export.
- The ZIP holds
transcripts/(one Markdown file per meeting with speakers and timestamps),index.csv(title, date and participants per meeting) andall-transcripts.txt, every meeting in one file. Above about 400,000 words it's split intoall-transcripts-part1.txt,part2and so on.
Step 2: pick the AI tool and mind its limits
| Tool | Accepts | Size per file | How many files |
|---|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT Projects | TXT, PDF, DOCX; CSV as a spreadsheet | Up to 512 MB and 2 million tokens per text file; CSV about 50 MB (OpenAI) | 5 on Free, 25 on Go and Plus, 40 on Edu, Pro, Business and Enterprise; 10 per upload (OpenAI) |
| Claude Projects | TXT, CSV, JSON, PDF, DOCX and more | 30 MB per project file; chat uploads up to 500 MB, 20 per chat (Anthropic) | No fixed count, but content must fit the context window; paid plans switch to retrieval as projects grow, up to 10x more capacity (Anthropic) |
| NotebookLM | TXT, Markdown, CSV, PDF, DOCX | Up to 500,000 words or 200 MB per source (Google) | 50 sources on Free; paid plans list 100, 300, 500 or 600 (Google) |
MinuteHaul splits the combined file at about 400,000 words so each part fits under NotebookLM's per-source limit. As a rough estimate (ours, not Google's), conversational speech runs about 130 to 160 words per minute, so one part holds very roughly 40 or more hours of meetings.
Step 3: load the files
- ChatGPT: create a Project (for example "Customer calls 2026") and add
all-transcripts.txtor its parts, plusindex.csv, as project files. - Claude: create a Project, open its files section and upload the same files. If a part is over 30 MB, split it before uploading.
- NotebookLM: create a notebook and add each part as a source. Add
index.csvtoo for date and participant lookups.
Each transcript starts with the meeting title and date, so ask the assistant to cite them in its answers. That makes it easy to check a claim against the original meeting.
Prompts that work well on meeting archives
- "List every pricing objection customers raised, with the meeting title and date for each."
- "Which feature requests came up in more than one meeting? Rank them by how often."
- "Summarize every meeting with [company] in date order, and list open action items."
- "Find the meetings where we discussed [topic] and quote the key lines."
Privacy note
Transcripts contain other people's words and often personal data. Check your company's policy and your AI tool's data settings before uploading. MinuteHaul itself runs in your browser: your API key stays in memory and the transcripts go from Fireflies straight to your disk.
Get every Fireflies transcript in one ZIP, ready for AI tools. Pick Fireflies in the MinuteHaul web exporter (beta). It uses Fireflies' official API from your browser and works on the Free plan. Your 10 most recent meetings are free. Buy unlimited: $29 one-time with a 14-day money-back guarantee.
FAQ

How do I get all my Fireflies meetings into NotebookLM? Export them into a few large text files (MinuteHaul splits at about 400,000 words) and add each as a source. NotebookLM accepts up to 500,000 words per source and 50 sources per notebook on the free plan.
Can Claude analyze all my Fireflies meetings at once? Yes, within its limits: Claude project files can be up to 30 MB each, and the content must fit the context window, though paid plans switch to retrieval as projects grow.
Do I need a paid Fireflies plan? No for the API route: Fireflies documents Free-plan API limits of 30 requests per minute and 500 per day. Per-meeting downloads in the Fireflies app need Pro or higher.
