How to cancel your Fireflies subscription and keep your transcripts

Short answer: In the Fireflies web app go to Settings, then Account, scroll to Subscriptions and click Cancel next to your plan, then confirm. Paid features last until the billing cycle ends and the account then drops to Free; Fireflies says your meetings stay accessible within the Free plan limits (Fireflies guide). Per-meeting downloads need Pro or higher, so export what you want to keep before the cycle ends.

Step 1: export first (it's the part you can't redo on Free)

Cancelling doesn't delete your data, but Fireflies says downloading transcripts, summaries and recordings needs a Pro plan or higher (Fireflies guide). Once the account is on Free the Download button is disabled. Two ways to keep a copy:

Step 2: cancel the subscription

  1. Open the Fireflies web app and click Settings in the left menu.
  2. Go to Account in the left panel.
  3. Scroll to Subscriptions and click Cancel next to your active plan.
  4. Pick a reason in the pop-up and click Continue. Fireflies may suggest guides based on the reason.
  5. The AskFred assistant may offer alternatives. Click Proceed With Cancellation to continue, or skip it.
  6. Click Cancel Subscription (or Cancel Team Subscription on team plans) to confirm.

Steps as listed in Fireflies' cancellation guide. Only the workspace's billing admin can change the plan (Fireflies guide).

What happens after you cancel

Cancel vs downgrade vs delete

Cancel moves you to Free. Downgrade moves Business or Enterprise to the next paid tier down (see Fireflies downgrade options). Deleting the account removes your data, so export first: before you delete Fireflies.

Get every Fireflies transcript as Markdown + CSV in one ZIP before you cancel. Pick Fireflies in the MinuteHaul web exporter (beta). It uses Fireflies' official API from your browser and works on the Free plan: no request form, no 48-hour wait. Your 10 most recent meetings are free; every meeting is $19 one-time with a 14-day refund. Export all my Fireflies meetings: $19

The Fireflies source in MinuteHaul is in beta. It's built on Fireflies' documented API; if anything looks wrong with your account, email us and we'll fix it or refund you.

FAQ

Will I lose my Fireflies transcripts if I cancel? No. Fireflies says cancelling does not delete data; meetings, transcripts and recordings stay accessible within the Free plan limits. Per-meeting downloads need Pro or higher, though, so export before the billing cycle ends.

When does my Fireflies subscription actually end? At the end of the current billing cycle. Paid features stay active until then, you are not charged again, and the account switches to Free.

Where is the cancel button in Fireflies? Settings, then Account, then the Subscriptions section: click Cancel next to your active plan and follow the prompts.

Does cancelling Fireflies cancel AI Credits too? No. Fireflies treats the AI Credits subscription separately; cancel it on its own.
