Fireflies alternatives: which ones can take your old meetings?

Short answer: Common Fireflies alternatives are Otter, tl;dv, Avoma, Fathom and Granola. None documents a direct Fireflies import. Otter, tl;dv and Avoma accept uploaded recordings and re-transcribe them; Fathom and Granola only record new meetings. Whichever you pick, export your Fireflies transcripts and recordings before you cancel.

Sources: each vendor's help center, linked in the table, checked Oct 2026. This page compares one thing: whether your Fireflies history can come with you. It doesn't rank transcription quality or price. MinuteHaul exports from Fireflies and tl;dv only; it does not export from Otter or any other tool.

Can it take your Fireflies history?

Step 1 before any switch: export Fireflies

  1. Request Fireflies' account data export: a ZIP with transcripts, summaries, MP3 audio and MP4 video if recorded, in 24 to 48 hours (Fireflies guide). Those MP3/MP4 files are what you'd upload to Otter, tl;dv or Avoma.
  2. For searchable files now, export transcripts through the API as Markdown plus a CSV index: bulk export Fireflies transcripts.
  3. Then cancel: how to cancel Fireflies. Per-meeting downloads need Pro or higher (Fireflies guide), so do steps 1 and 2 first.

Which one to pick

Get every Fireflies transcript as Markdown + CSV in one ZIP before you cancel. Pick Fireflies in the MinuteHaul web exporter (beta). It uses Fireflies' official API from your browser and works on the Free plan: no request form, no 48-hour wait. Your 10 most recent meetings are free; every meeting is $19 one-time with a 14-day refund. Export all my Fireflies meetings: $19

The Fireflies source in MinuteHaul is in beta. It's built on Fireflies' documented API; if anything looks wrong with your account, email us and we'll fix it or refund you.

FAQ

What is the best alternative to Fireflies? It depends on your needs. If you want past meetings inside the new tool, Otter, tl;dv and Avoma accept uploaded recordings; Fathom and Granola only record new meetings.

Can I import my Fireflies meetings into another tool? Not directly; none of these tools documents a Fireflies import. Export your Fireflies data (the account export includes MP3 and MP4) and upload the recordings where uploads are supported.

Is there a free Fireflies alternative? Otter (Basic) and tl;dv have free plans with upload limits: Otter allows three imported files and tl;dv five uploads per account. Check each vendor for current limits.

Should I export before switching from Fireflies? Yes. Per-meeting downloads need a Fireflies Pro plan or higher, so export transcripts and recordings before your paid plan ends.
