Short answer: your Granola notes are not locked in. Granola's own export, Settings > Profile > Generate CSV, emails you a CSV with the title, summary, transcript and basic details of every note you own, and it includes your full note history, even notes older than 30 days that the free Basic plan hides in the app (Granola docs). It is not instant (the email arrives within a few hours), you get one export per 24 hours, and the link expires after 24 hours, so plan ahead before you cancel, switch tools or delete your account.
What the CSV contains, per Granola: title, note summary, transcript and other basic details for each note. What it leaves out: deleted notes and notes without a summary, so your export can have fewer notes than the count in the app (Granola: Exporting notes).
Plan notes: data export is on by default on Basic and Business. On Enterprise it is off by default, and only a workspace admin can switch on Allow exporting data for members. There is no admin-level export of the whole team; each person exports their own notes (Granola docs).
Granola lists integrations including Slack, Notion, HubSpot, Salesforce, Affinity, Attio and Zapier for sharing a note from its menu (Granola docs). Two limits matter for an archive: on the Basic plan, integrations are Slack only (Granola: plans), and the Notion integration sends notes one at a time, with no bulk or automatic sync. Granola suggests Zapier's Note Added to Granola Folder trigger for automatic sending to Notion going forward (Granola: Notion). Notion receives the enhanced notes, so for full transcripts the CSV export is the more complete route.
Any workspace member on Business or Enterprise can create an API key in the desktop app under Settings > Connectors > API keys (Granola: API). The API gives programmatic access to notes, transcripts and AI summaries, but it only returns notes that have a generated summary and transcript. Granola MCP connects Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants to your notes; on Basic it covers notes from the last 30 days, and some folder, search and transcript tools are paid-only (Granola: MCP). Neither is needed for a one-off archive: the CSV export already includes transcripts.
Want a one-click Granola exporter? MinuteHaul doesn't support Granola yet. If you would use one (for example, one file per note in Markdown instead of a single CSV), email us; requests decide which source we add next. Exporting from tl;dv or Fireflies? Use the web exporter (free for your 10 most recent meetings).
Can I export all my Granola notes at once? Yes. Granola's help center says Settings > Profile > Generate CSV emails you a CSV within a few hours with the title, note summary, transcript and other basic details for each note you own in the workspaces you select. You can create one export every 24 hours, and the download link is valid for 24 hours.
Does the Granola CSV export include transcripts? Yes. Granola says the CSV includes the transcript for each note. It only includes notes that have a summary; deleted notes and notes without a summary are left out, so the count can be lower than the app shows.
I'm on the free Basic plan. Can I export notes older than 30 days? Yes. Granola says Basic only shows the last 30 days in the app, but older notes are stored, not deleted, and the CSV export includes your full note history, including notes older than 30 days.
Does cancelling Granola delete my notes? No. Granola says your subscription runs to the end of the billing period, then the workspace moves to the Basic (free) plan; older notes are hidden, not deleted, and come back if you upgrade. Deleting your account is different: it permanently removes your notes and cannot be undone.
Can I download the audio of my Granola meetings? No. Granola says it does not record or save audio or video, so there is no way to access audio from your meetings. The transcript and notes are what you can keep.
Can a workspace admin export everyone's Granola notes? No. Granola says there is no company-wide or admin-level export; each person's export only includes their own notes.
Does MinuteHaul export from Granola? Not yet. MinuteHaul supports tl;dv (web exporter and CLI), Fireflies (web exporter, beta) and Avoma (CLI beta). This page explains Granola's own export options.
