How to bulk export Avoma transcripts

In Avoma's app you download a transcript (.vtt or .txt) from each meeting's menu: ⋮ → Download → Transcript (Avoma help). With hundreds of meetings, that takes a long time. Avoma's API can list transcriptions in pages, and the free MinuteHaul CLI uses it to export them all.

Requirements

Run the export

curl -O https://minutehaul.haullabs.dev/cli/minutehaul.mjs
export AVOMA_API_KEY="CLIENT_KEY:CLIENT_SECRET"
node minutehaul.mjs --source avoma --out ./avoma-export

# optional: --from 2026-01-01 --to 2026-06-30 --jsonl

How it works: the CLI lists your meetings (/v1/meetings/) and transcriptions (/v1/transcriptions/), 100 per page, and joins them by meeting. Avoma limits the API to 60 requests per minute (Avoma help), so the CLI spaces requests about 1.1 seconds apart and retries on HTTP 429. Each transcription page holds up to 100 full transcripts (Avoma API reference), so even large archives take few requests.

What you get

Why a CLI and not the web app?

Avoma's API does not send the cross-origin (CORS) headers a browser needs, which we tested in October 2026. A browser-based exporter would therefore have to pass your key through a server. The CLI runs on your machine and talks only to api.avoma.com.

Beta: Avoma support in the MinuteHaul CLI has been tested against a mock of Avoma's published API, not yet against a live Avoma account. Please report problems to bulktranscripts@mail.grokbot.com.
