How to export tl;dv transcripts to Obsidian

Context: tl;dv's help center says "Right now, we don't support bulk transcript downloads or exports", and the "Allow downloading meetings in bulk" request on its public feature board is marked "in progress" (checked Oct 2026).

Why this is easy

Obsidian stores notes as plain Markdown files in a folder on your computer called a vault (Obsidian Help). Any .md file you put in that folder becomes a note, with no import step.

Steps

  1. Export your tl;dv transcripts as Markdown. MinuteHaul creates one .md per meeting, named YYYY-MM-DD-title-id.md.
  2. Unzip the export and copy the transcripts/ folder into your vault, e.g. Vault/Meetings/tldv/.
  3. Obsidian picks the files up automatically. Use search, or link meetings from your daily notes.

Tips

Pre-order MinuteHaul: $29 one-time or try it free on your 10 most recent meetings

Pre-order: the exporter ships within 7 days of your purchase. If it is not delivered to you in that time, you get an automatic full refund. Requires a paid tl;dv plan with API access: per tl;dv's API docs, the meeting organizer must be on Pro, Business or Enterprise.

FAQ

Do I need an Obsidian plugin to import tl;dv transcripts? No. Obsidian vaults are folders of Markdown files, so copying the exported .md files into the vault is enough.

What do the notes contain? Title, date, organizer, participants, a link back to tl;dv, and the speaker-labeled, timestamped transcript, plus tl;dv's AI notes when available.

Can I add new meetings later? Yes. Export a date range and copy the new files into the same folder.

Is MinuteHaul affiliated with Obsidian or tl;dv? No. It is independent.
